The lounge, bar and dining areas are centrally located overlooking the ocean under a Bedouin style tent with a fire pit out front.
Is there drinking water
Consider bringing your own water bottle to refill in camp as we always ensure there is good drinking water. The sale of bottled water contributes to an enormous environmental problem around the world. In addition to the water in bottles, the production of a 1 litre plastic bottle takes 2 litres of water and 200ml of oil. A large proportion end up in limited landfill or discarded in waterways and natural environments and Africa is not very big on recycling, thus we strive to stay away from this.
At our camps there is access to power to recharge your devices in the communal area at certain times as we use generators and solar to supply power. It goes without saying that generators do not run at all times.
Please try to avoid bringing unnecessary valuables. We strongly recommend that you photocopy all important documents e.g. flight tickets, passport, vaccination certificate, etc. and keep the copies separate from the originals. While not valid, a photocopy makes it much easier to obtain replacements if necessary. If at all possible ensure that these are certified. The chances are pretty slim that you may need them but better safe than sorry.
A headlamp or torch is recommended for around the camp at night. Although we supply lighting in our camps and pathways are lit it is always handy to have.
You will need to bring a mixture of lightweight clothing, some warm items for the evenings, and long shirts and pants for protection against mosquitoes in malaria areas.
Due to the remoteness of some of our camps it is advisable to bring along closed shoes to wear in the evenings as there are scorpions in the wild.
Can I bring my own tent?
Even though we offer tented accommodation it doesn’t mean that you can come and camp at our sites, we operate the same way a lodge does and everything is supplied.
Should I bring along a sleeping bag
No need for that everything is supplied from our comfy coil mattresses to comfy duvets and pillows.
Can I bring along my own alcohol
We are a fully licensed operation with a bar so no need to bring along your own alcohol. Corkage will be charged where applicable.
What do you serve for dinner
We cater for all dietary requirements so please ensure that you notify us upon booking of any specific needs or allergies. Our meals are buffet style and depend on the area we are set up, if you are visiting our west coast camp for instance you can expect fresh seafood. Every meal is followed by delicious desert.
Do you support responsible tourism
We believe strongly in positive impact tourism. Broadly speaking this means that we try to minimize the negative aspects of tourism on the local cultures and environments that we visit and highlight the positive aspects. Our motto is to leave every location in the condition we’ve found it if not better.
Are there hot water showers
The showers are bucket showers to save water, and hot water is delivered to your tent every morning and evening.
What kind of toilet can I expect
Every tent has its own chemical toilet (Porta potti).
Can I pay by card at camp
Yes we have credit card facilities.
Is there free wifi
The whole concept is to get away from it all so we do not offer free wifi.
Is it pet friendly
No sorry even though we love our furry friends pets are not allowed.
Can I use a hair dryer
Due to the remoteness of our locations we cannot offer power.
Can we drive to your camp in a sedan
Though we advise against it, it is possible. It would be better to use a SUV or bakkie to get to us.
‘n Ongelooflike eksklusiewe bestemming en ervaring. ‘n Baie eksklusiewe bestemming!
What an amazing place. Everything was brilliant, not a thing missed for a “wow” experience. Highly recommended.
Remote Locations het my beste verwagtinge oortref.
